SCAS and Group Companies

Sumika Chemical Analysis Service, Ltd. (SCAS) was established in 1972 as an analytical laboratory specializing in environmental assessment before rapidly expanding into physical property evaluation and R&D support. Facing growing demand, the company set up its first overseas affiliate, SCAS Singapore Pte. Ltd. (SCASS), in 1997 followed by Sumika Analysis & Evaluation Service China Ltd. in 2007 to further strengthen its presence in Asia. With the introduction of REACH in Europe, SCAS Europe S.A./N.V. was established in Belgium to provide legal representation (Only Representative) and Third-Party Representative services to non-EU manufacturers.

SCAS Europe S.A./N.V., providing exclusive services in Europe

SCAS Europe S.A./N.V., located in Diegem, Belgium, was established in 2007 to offer REACH-related services in an Only Representative capacity for non-EU manufacturers. It is the only Japanese legal entity providing such services in the EU.

In addition to REACH consultancy services, SCAS Europe in close collaboration with SCAS offers a full range of regulatory services from new chemical notifications and registrations in the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas and Europe to MSDS generation. It provides translation service for over 30 languages and also chemical management, including hazards/safety evaluation and studies, risk management, and eco-toxicity studies.
